Does God Exist?

This the question we have always wondered , but something we may never know. Does God really exist? Many scientist and many philosophers have always wondered is there such thing as a God. Is there any evidence? Is God a man or a woman? Is God even a person or just feeling in our souls? Is it just our brain tricking us? Do we just fear death and have to believe in something to find purpose? To try to answer these questions is merely impossible, but I will depict the reasons why I believe in God. The main reason I believe in God is because that’s is what I’ve been thought my whole life, I believe that God is a spiritual being and cannot be seen. And I also believe that God is a miracle working God and have seen the spiritual blessing in my life personally.     To even fully comprehend the question of who God is we have to define the dictionary definition of God. God as the Christian believers perceive him to be: The creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority; the supreme being. In other traditions and religions he is define by the following: a superhuman being or spirit worshiped as having power over nature or human fortunes; a deity. The question that we are trying to answer is totally impossible. The real question we should be asking who God is for us. I see God as a supreme being that covers us as people. He is the protector and he is the main definition of the word LOVE.  God is an all loving God and he is a father figure in my life. I don’t believe in religion and I don’t believe in staying comfortable state or even doing things as routine. I believe that there is such thing as a real relationship with God. Religion should not be about being a certain way or even us trying to be perfect. I just feel that God accepts us as who we are. The arguments that I find most persuasive is the fact that people feel that Charles Darwin was correct about the state of evolution. There is so much evidence that is backed up through the theory of evolution and how animals are changing and adapting, but I just can’t believe that we could come from chimpanzee or any other species. I believe that we have purpose in this life and that there will be an afterlife. I’ve grown up in church my whole life. I am currently a youth leader at my local church so I have a huge case of how God can exist in my life and many others. There has been certain miracles that have happened in my life that could not be defined by scientific studies. The things that I have experiences are supernatural. I’ve seen things from healing of the sick to people who were hardcore drug addicts. That’s something that just doesn’t happen because of “science”. There has to be something supernatural out there that is there performing these miracles.       Another reason God exists is how everything is done perfectly. What do I mean by that you might ask? Well how the clouds are perfect, the sun is perfect, gravity is perfect. This universe could not be just made by science itself, it has to be supernatural. There would be no need for a God if we had all the answers. God wants us to keep asking these question so we can’t rely on ourselves to find the answers. So what are these questions? Scientists are convinced that our universe began with one enormous explosion of energy and light, which we now call the Big Bang. This was the singular start to everything that exists: the beginning of the universe, the start of space, and even the initial start of time itself. The universe has not always existed. It had a start…what caused that? Scientists have no explanation for the sudden explosion of light and matter. I was an atheist at one time. And like many atheists, the issue of people believing in God bothered me a lot. As I challenged those who believed in God, I was deeply curious to see if they could convince me otherwise. Part of my quest was to become free from the question of God. If I could scientifically prove to believers that they were wrong, then the issue is off the table, and I would be free to go about my life. I didn’t realize that the reason the topic of God weighed so heavily on my mind, was because God was pressing the issue. I have come to find out that God wants to be known. He created us with the intention that we would know him. He has surrounded us with evidence of himself and he keeps the question of his existence squarely before us. It was as if I couldn’t escape thinking about the possibility of God. In fact, the day I chose to acknowledge God’s existence, my prayer began with, “Ok, you win…” It might be that the underlying reason atheists are bothered by people believing in God is because God is actively pursuing them.   Unlike any other revelation of God,  Jesus Christ is the clearest, most specific picture of God revealing himself to us. Why Jesus? Look throughout the major world religions and you’ll find that Buddha, Muhammad, Confucius and Moses all identified themselves as teachers or prophets. None of them ever claimed to be equal to God. Surprisingly, Jesus did. That is what sets Jesus apart from all the others. He said God exists and you’re looking at him. Though he talked about his Father in heaven, it was not from the position of separation, but very close union, unique to all humankind. Jesus said that anyone who had seen Him had seen the Father, anyone who believed in him, believed in the Father.
