why physical activity is extremely important

“95% of Canadian children and youth do not get the recommended amount of physical activity” . This is an issue because physical activity is extremely important for the human body.  Most of the time, when it comes to being  active, people aren’t too excited about it. They decide that they are either ‘busy’, or too ‘tired’ to do something active. Often times, “people wonder if being physically active is really worth all the time and effort” .  Well, the answer is yes. Physical activity creates numerous positive effects on your body.  As can be seen, many people from time to time again have proven that physical activity is certainly healthy for you, improves the quality of your sleep, and overall gives you a positive outlook on life.To begin with, it is known by everyone that physical activity is certainly healthy for your body. There are so many health benefits that come with exercising, such include reducing the risk of a heart attack, reducing the risk of other cancers, feeling good physically and mentally, and so many more. Many have shown, that as you get older your body gets weaker, and starts to slows down. This increases more risk of terribly unhealthy things to happen, such as breaking a bone or pulling a muscle. That is why it is important to maintain the strength and health of your  bones, muscles and joints. To further explain, Statistics prove that “People who are physically active for about 7 hours a week have a 40 percent lower risk of dying earlier than those who are active for less than 30 minutes a week”.  Everytime you exercise, you make your body even stronger than it already is. The stronger the body, the longer and healthier you live.  Many people would not know, however it is scientifically proven that physical activity can have a positive impact on sleep. “Exercise has been shown to improve sleep for people with sleep disorders, including insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea”. It is more likely, that regular physical activity can tremendously improve your sleep, compared to not exercising and relaxing. At the end of a long day filled with many physical activities, it will be easier to fall asleep as it reduces stress and tires you out. Physical activity can also help to improve a longer duration of “deep sleep”. “Deep sleep helps to boost immune function, support cardiac health, and control stress and anxiety.” Moreover, a good habit of exercising can create a good duration sleep cycle. This increases the chance of having reparative sleeps more often, which “allows the brain and muscles to regenerate more completely.” Everybody already knows that physical activity improves the health of your body physically. However, It can not only do that, but it also creates a positive impact on your mental health. Getting the right amount of exercise can get rid of depression, and reduce anxiety and stress levels.
